KEENAN MAY | michigan

Keenan is the principal of Northerly’s office in Leelanau County, Michigan office. He earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of Michigan, graduating with distinction. With more than 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry, his background spans hands-on residential construction to leading product design within the technology sector. Prior to founding Northerly in 2018, Keenan practiced with Stephen Sutro Architects in San Francisco and Walt Niehoff of LMN Architects in Seattle.

HANS PAPKE | california

Hans Papke is principal of Northerly's office in the San Francisco Bay Area. He earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of Michigan, graduating with distinction. His design work spans residential and commercial projects, informed by experience at offices in Germany, Norway, Sweden & Chicago. He brings a rigorous approach to architectural design that balances conceptual clarity with technical resolution. Hans also teaches design studios at UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design and the School of Architecture at Northeastern University.
